Is a annuity the same as a structured settlement exactly or just similar?
Is a structured settlement payment like an annuity? Is it classified as income to appyly for ODSP
A annuity and a structured settlement are very similar. They are lump sum payments that are paid out over a specific period of time. Now with a Variable Annuity, the proceeds may be invested and could potentially generate returns on that money causing the payouts to flucuate. However, the money in Variable Annuities is at risk since it is invested in the market so be careful and make sure if you go that right the right VA is picked.
