No Load Life Insurance

Anyone heard of home rehab without detox?
The daughter of a friend of mine says she is addicted to Vicodin and told her mother she plans to do “At home rehab.” They own a small business, so while the daughter stays at home “rehabbing” her mother is working all of her hours. She has not been evaluated by a Dr. or other care provider (no insurance). Also, she lives with her pot smoking boyfriend. She claims not to smoke but…
I guess what I’m wondering is if one can rehab themself without going through a detox period, AND, what’s the difference if she’s at home rehabbing or at work?
I don’t mean to sound cynical but this sounds like a load of bull to me, and I’m sick of this girl taking advantage of her mother. She’s almost 30 and her mother is constantly bailing her out, so to speak.
Anything you can share is appreciated.
Mothers can be such fools sometimes….Not serious stuff with me and my kids, but now they’re in their thirties they laugh about how gullible I was. They do this ‘Hey, Ben, do you remember when you told Mum you were stopping at Byron’s house?’ Ben ‘Oh, yes, when we were out all night over the allotments?’ stuff like that. Laura ‘Remember when Mum thought I was the only one who didn’t smoke? And she kept telling everyone how proud she was of me? And all the time I was smoking?’
The problem is….we want to believe our kids!!!
Edit – she won’t thank you for enlightening her!
