Can someone tell me what would be a good company to purchase annuities for retirement?
I am not familiar with annuities so I would appreciate any and all information that I get. What would I have to do or who would I need to contact about buying annuities.

If you already have an investment account with somebody, ask them first. Otherwise, go with a large known national (or international) insurance company. If you have insurance policy with such company, call them and ask. They would be eager to get your account. The term of annuities would be pretty much the same. The reason for choosing the large insurance company is that you can count on them to exist for a long time and they would provide better service than some small unknown companies.
